Facility:Mel Fisher Museum
Description:Mel Fisher, a dreamer, a visionary, a legend and most importantly, the World's Greatest Treasure Hunter! His mantra continues to inspire the search for the rest of the treasure from the Nuestra Senora de Atocha and the Santa Margarita, the Spanish galleons that sank during a hurricane on September 6, 1622, near Key West, Florida. The Museum was opened in Sebastian, Florida. It primarily serves to conserve and exhibit many of the new discoveries from wrecks of the 1715 Fleet still being worked and recovered by Mel's children and other sub-contractors decades after their initial discovery.
