We attended a Gallery/Studio tour at Montclair Art Museum today. The cost was slightly more than regular admission and it was arranged in advance. They do host homeschool days which run similar to our program today.

Today the topic was Native American Art. The exhibit is just the right size to cover in 1 hour. Our docent led us around and talked to us about the artifacts they have collected.

After the talk, we had time in a studio with an artist leading us on a Native American inspired project. The kids all had a good time and I think they learned from both the docent and the artist.

After our time was complete, I wanted to spend time exploring the rest of the museum. I felt their security staff was very, very strict and the kids had too much energy to burn for a museum. The staff doesn't want you to even touch the placards and watch every pointed finger to make sure it isn't touching an item or even the glass.

All in all, it was a great experience, great exhibit.
