Built in 1915 and once an Agricultural Fair building, the South Simcoe Pioneer Museum now houses a mixed collection of household, agricultural, industrial and archival artifacts dating from the early 1800's to the present. The collections focus on both urban and rural life in southern Simcoe County. Nestled among the trees of Riverdale Park, the site features the 1851 MacDonald Log Cabin, the 1858 English Barn as well as the 1915 Agricultural Fair building. The site offers self-guided interpretive tours, educational programs, special exhibits & events, lectures, workshops, programs and research facilities. "Step-on" guided tours of the community and costumed guided tours of the Museum can be arranged in advance. |
