This is a website where you can watch members of the Screen Actors Guild – yes, well-known actors and actresses – read stories and books aloud. Their skills at bringing the words on the pages to life engage audiences of all ages. |
When you get to the site you will see a welcome message and a menu of book covers/titles below. Put your cursor over the book and you can see who reads it. You can also find the complete list by clicking on “Library” located at the top. Turn on your speakers, and click on a book to begin. You will be treated to a video of the actor reading the book, complete with illustrations, captions (so you can follow along), and a musical score to enhance the experience.
Once you are through watching and listening to the story or book, download and print out the “Activity Guide” that includes a book summary, reading and writing helps, and related activities.
We were completely captivated by the stories we sampled. This is a high-quality endeavor that blends literature and technology in a delightful way for readers and listeners of all ages. |
